Introduction
May Cottage is a delightful 2 bedroom regency cottage all on one level and within a few minutes walk of the famous Stow Square. It has been completely renovated and extended to include a master Suite with luxury bathroom, a conservatory and enlarged sitting room opening onto a patio. 'There is off road parking and private garden. Its 5 * status was renewed in October 2010.

Pre-Arrival
May Cottage is only a short 3-4 min walk to the centre of Stow and all its many shops, hotels, restaurants and pubs as well as take-aways which are only two minutes away. Stow is connected by bus to all the nearby towns and the nearest Train Station, which is on the Worcester line out of London Paddington, is 5 miles away at Kingham. Taxis need to be ordered separately ( try Tony Knight on 07887-714047).
Although the cottage is all on one level it is not suitable for wheel chair guests.
The cottage has a Pay Phone which will take incoming calls and the number is 01451-830745.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
There is a dedicated and marked parking space for one car at the front of May Cottage in the drive of the owners house. It is possible to arrange parking for an additional car when booking.
The car parking area is illuminated by security lights during the hours of darkness.
Details of key collection are provided with final payment.

Main Entrance
There are a set of short steps between the parking area and the front door but these can be avoided by using the rear access after initial entry.
There are external lights all around the cottage which are controlled from inside.

Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
The entrance Hall, Kitchen and conservatory are covered in travertine flagstones whilst the Sitting room and bedrooms are carpeted. The bathroom has a tiled floor with underfloor heating. Being all on one level the Cottage is ideal for the elderly and there is a walk-in shower in addition to a separate bath. There is a outside patio table with large sun umbrella  with seating for four people as well as a separate BBQ area with a further table and four chairs and as gas BBQ.

Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
The sitting room is furnished to a high standard with antique furniture and there is a comprehensive library of books for use by guests as well as a 19" Colour TV with Freeview and CD player. There is comfortable seating for four persons and the room has access to both front and rear patios.
The sitting room includes a dining area which looks out over the rear patio and garden. There is also a outside patio table with eating for four persons and a gas BBQ is also available. The Bathroom can be accessed from both bedrooms and the Sitting Room.

Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas
There is a large double bedroom which has been very tastefully furnished and with access directly to both the luxury Bathroom and the Conservatory - a delightful feature. All linen is provided and this is changed weekly for those who book longer stays.
The light twin room looks out over the front garden and also has access to the luxury bathroom through separate entry.

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC
The new luxury bathroom comprises, a bath, a separate walk-in shower with its own light and extractor fan, basin and WC. There is also a large heated towel rail and the tiled floor has underfloor heating. The Bathroom can be accessed from both bedrooms and the Sitting Room.

Self-Catering Kitchen
The limed wood fitted kitchen is compact but includes all the facilities required of a 5 star cottage. These include; washer/dryer, dishwasher, electric hob and mulit-function oven with integral extractor fan, microwave, separate fridge and fridge-freezer, toaster and kettle.

Laundry
There is a combined Washer/Dryer installed in the Kitchen. The nearest Launderette is 5 miles away in Moreton-in Marsh.

Cottage Outside Facilities
A private patio is accessed from the sitting room via double patio doors and the conservatory. There is a 6 inch step. The front patio is also accessed from the Sitting Room; no step.

Fire, Health and Safety
The Cottage meets all the statutory fire, health and safety requirements and is inspected annually by an Inspector from the English Tourist Board. A copy of the latest Fire Risk Assessment is available on request.

Leisure Facilities
Golf, fishing, horse riding, swimming all available in the local area.

Outdoor Facilities
The full range of outdoor activities are available in the local area. Stow's Visitor centre has all the details.

Restaurants, Bars, Take Away & Cafes
Stow-on-the-Wold has a wonderful selection of Hotels, Pubs and Restaurants and the Cottage Info Folder provides all the necessary information together with the Owner's recommendations. There are 3 Take-Aways within a few minutes walk including Fish and Chips, Chinese and Indian. There is also an excellent selection of places to eat within 5 miles ranging from 5 star Hotels to very good Pubs. Full details are contained in the Cottage Information Folder.

Additional Information
An ideal centre to explore the wonderful Cotswolds and ideally placed if you want walking access to shops, pubs and restaurants.
