Two Dog Friendly Cottages in the Heart of the Lake District

Honeypot and Nannygoat Cottages sit side by side in a converted stable block that dates back at least four or five centuries. These dog friendly cottages in stunning surroundings have lively canine host, Rupert, Murphy and Effie, and plenty of space for you and your dogs to explore.

We even have a highly-rated dog friendly pub (with dog biscuits on the bar) just a short stroll down the country lane.

Honeypot and Nannygoat cottages

Well-dressed inside and out, with planters and hanging baskets for seasonal colour, the two cottages sit on an expansive private estate with woodlands and a pond. The soundtrack to your stay is likely to be one of birdsong, as our local herons and woodpeckers are backed up by a daily chorus of other fascinating wildlife.

Step outside of either cottage and you’ll find garden furniture, table and chairs and a BBQ for sociable and relaxing moments.

Inside, you’ll find that every room is perfectly dressed. Honeypot has a purple and green tartan soft furnishing scheme to balance out the neutral décor on the floors and walls, with leather sofas and antique furniture. Nannygoat has earthy green tones and tartans and stunning leather sofas alongside vintage pine furniture.

The beds are equally well dressed, with contrast pillows and throws, bedspreads and soft linens to sink into. There’s a double and a kingsize bed in each cottage along with two bathrooms – one with a walk-in shower and another featuring a shower over bath.

The space in the cosy cottages has been maximized by the unusual, upside-down layout, and there’s a separate laundry room so that you don’t have to compromise on space or amenities. Both of the newly fitted kitchens are a modern shaker style and extremely well-equipped – they’re perfect for our guests to create meals using wonderful local produce. Don’t forget to visit our food and drink page for ideas on where to find the best local ingredients.

Other Things to Note

Under no circumstances must dogs be left unattended in the cottages, in extreme circumstances we may be able to arrange a chargeable dog sitter. This is purely for the safety and well-being of the dogs as we do not believe they should be left in a strange place.
